Ariel Schrag is an American cartoonist, television writer, and author. She was born on October 29, 1979 in Berkeley, California. Schrag is known for her autobiographical comic book series, Potential, which chronicles her high school years at Berkeley High School. She has also written several other graphic novels, including the autobiographical Awkward and Definition, as well as the fictional Likewise and Adam.
Schrag has also worked as a writer on several television shows, including The L Word, How to Make It in America, and Black Monday. In addition to her writing, she has been an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and has written several essays and opinion pieces on the topic.
Schrag graduated from Columbia University with a degree in English and Comparative Literature and currently resides in Los Angeles.
